1410_2014-06-05_eye level 2Youth Work Ireland Monaghan proposed to reuse the unused Presbyterian Church as a Youth Café facility. This facility provides teenagers with a place to meet and a resource to organise activities.

The Church is a very small simple building and is a forgotten treasure in the town. It has been empty and un-used for about 10 years and while some repairs are necessary it is in remarkably good condition.

The funding for this project is very limited and it only allows for the installation of heating, toilets, accessable facilities and some additional accommodation. A simple platform is to be constructed to provide additional resources in the main church hall. This is designed so that it can be removable. Other benches and features of the building will be re-used where possible.

For the building to have a sustainable future it needs to be used. The town also needs facilities for its young people. With a small amount of funding these two needs can be met and an empty part of Farney Street can become a place to be again.
