Project Overview

This is a holiday home in the west of Ireland located right on a cliff edge overlooking the atlantic.  The original house had the same plan as every other house in the estate and didn’t really take advantage of its setting.

The house was extended by just less than 40m so that planning permission was not required.  We made a new room that took full advantage of the spectacular views and opened up to the garden outside.  The kitchen and mezzanine also open up onto this space which makes it fell very open and generous.  We reconfigured the bedrooms in the rest of the house and upgraded the bathrooms.

The house is well insulated and air tight and achieves a BER of A3.  The heating systems can be remotely controlled so no matter when you arrive for your holiday the heating will be on.
