Student Housing Development, Templemore

Project Overview

In Templemore there is a large student housing requirement with very little supply.  This scheme was designed to try to address this issue.

The student apartments were arranged in in efficient blocks which took advantage of the site orientation.  There were designed on a modular grid so that could easily be constructed, adapted and extended.  Each apartment clustered bedrooms around a common living room, and different varieties of these clustered could be accommodated within the same repeating pattern.  On the elevation there was a variety of finishes so that each block could have its own identity.

The scheme did not proceed but it proved to be an excellent research opportunity to design around a rapid delivery system on site that would dramatically reduce construction times.
